We will be finalizing grades and processing EOG scores this week. Student final report cards for the year, including their promotion status will be mailed home next Monday, June 3. Students who attend summer school may have their report cards delayed until retesting scores are completed.
The school office will be closed Monday, May 27 in honor of the Memorial Day holiday.
Beginning Monday, June 3, East Middle will be following the Rutherford County Schools summer operating hours. School offices will be open Mondays-Thursdays from 7:00 am - 5:00. Offices will be closed to the public on Fridays beginning June 7. We will follow this schedule until Friday, August 2.
This week is the beginning of summer school to remediate and retest the EOG. Select students have been invited to attend summer school based on their EOG test scores. Students MUST attend 12 hours (3 days) of remediation prior to each retest on the 4th day. Some students may have been invited to retake more than one retest. Summer school hours are 8:00-12:00. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 am. Bus transportation will be offered. Free breakfast will be offered each day, but we will not be serving lunch. The weeks are summer school are:
Week 1 - May 28 - 31 (Tuesday-Friday)
Week 2 - June 3 - 6 (Monday-Thursday)
Week 3 - June 10 - 13 (Monday-Thursday)
School staff called parents last week to provide estimated bus pickup and drop off times. Please be patient since we are running entirely different routes with fewer buses for summer school. If you have any issues with summer school buses, please contact the school office at 828-245-3750.
