Announcements January 15 - 19, 2024

There will be no school on Monday, January 15 due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Midyear MAP testing will take place this week.  These are assessments in reading and math that help us to understand student progress toward academic standards.  We also use these scores to place students in their WIN groups for the second half of the school year.  Below is the MAP testing schedule:
Tuesday, January 16 - 7th Grade MAP Reading
Wednesday, January 17 - 6th and 8th Grade MAP Reading
Thursday, January 18 - 7th Grade MAP Math
Friday, January 19 - 6th and 8th Grade MAP Math

Be sure your child is on time each day of testing and encourage him/her to do their best.  As an incentive, students will be allowed to wear pajamas to school if their grade level meets their average growth goals on MAP.  If the grade level meets the growth goal in one subject that grade will have one pajama day.  If the grade level meets the growth goal in both reading and math they will have one week of pajama days (5 days).

Serendipity Snow Cone truck will be here Thursday, January 17.  Students can purchase Snow Cones for $2 each and will pick theirs up after lunch on Thursday.  Money should be turned in to their homeroom teacher by Thursday of this week.

The Drama Club will meet immediately after school from 3:00 - 4:30 on Tuesday, January 16 for any student who is interested in being part of the club.
