This week is Gear Up Week at ERMS. Gear Up is a grant funded program that provides supports to students to help them focus on career and college success. The Gear Up staff have coordinated spirit days each day this week that include:
Monday - October 16 - Hat Day - Students may wear a hat in the building throughout the day. Be sure that any images or words displayed on the hat are appropriate for school.
Tuesday - October 17 - Career Day - Dress in an outfit to showcase the career you are interested in pursuing.
Wednesday - October 18 - Jersey Day - Wear your favorite sports team jersey
Thursday - October 19 - School Spirit Day - Show your Viking pride by wearing our school logo apparel and black and red
Friday - There is no designated activity on Friday due to the fact that we started the spirit week last Friday, October 13 with College Day
Sports Schedule:
Monday, October 16 - Boys Basketball Strength and Conditioning - 6:00-7:00
Monday, October 16 - Volleyball Tryouts - 6th Grade ONLY - 3:00-5:00
Tuesday, October 17 - Boys Basketball Open Gym - 6:00-8:00
Tuesday, October 17 - Volleyball Tryouts - 7th and 8th Grades - 3:00-5:00
Wednesday, October 18 - Boys Basketball Strength and Conditioning - 6:00-7:00
Wrestling practice begins Monday, October 16. Practice will be Monday-Friday throughout the season except holidays and match days from 3:00-4:45.
Serendipity Snow Cone truck will be here Thursday, October 19. Students can purchase Snow Cones for $2 each and will pick theirs up after lunch on Thursday. Money should be turned in to their homeroom teacher by Thursday of this week.
After school Homework Help is offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00-4:00 this week.

Our 7th grade team is sponsoring our first dance of the year on Thursday, October 26 from 3:00-4:30. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader who is in good behavior standing may attend. Students who receive a whole day of In School Suspension (ISS) or any days of Out of School Suspension (OSS) between October 2 - October 26 are NOT eligible to attend the dance. Tickets for the dance are $5 each and will be sold beginning Monday, October 23.
Looking ahead: There will be no school on Monday, October 23 due to a Teacher Workday.
