Dear ERMS Families,
We are happy to share that athletics will be starting soon. While things may look a little different this year, we believe it is important to give our students the opportunity to compete. Athletics are open to Hybrid and Remote students. All students must have a valid sport’s physical on file in order to participate in any athletic activity including preseason workouts and try-outs. Physicals must be completed on the RCS Physical Form. All students that had a physical completed after March 2019 on file at the school are cleared for the 2020/2021 school year. Any 7th or 8th grader that wishes to confirm that they have a physical on file with the school can check with our athletic department or the front office. Free physicals will be offered on the afternoon of October 29th at East Rutherford Middle in the gym for any student that needs one. All completed forms must be with you when you have your free physical. (You can access these forms on our school website and Facebook page or pick up in our front office. Students will also be able to request a form from the PE department during their PE class. The forms are also on our school website on the Sport's Information Widget.) We will share more specific details about procedures for attending this free clinic closer to time. If your student cannot attend on October 29th, Forest City Family Care will be offering free physicals to East Rutherford Middle School students during the month of October. Remote students are eligible to participate in sports. Be sure to check back over the next few weeks for additional information.
Thank you for your support!
