Hello, this is Dr. Walker, principal of East Rutherford Middle School. I have some important updates to go over this Friday afternoon March 27th. I want to give a shout out to all of our students and teachers. Our students have worked extremely hard to complete assignments and review material in Canvas. I’m very proud of you and I sure do miss seeing your smiles each day. Did you know, our teachers are amazing. They are creating instructional videos for you and are using Zoom so they can connect with you from home. I was able to pop into several Zoom meetings this week and I was impressed with the questions the students were asking. Keep it up!
On Monday, March 30, we will be providing lunch pickup from 10-6 PM. Please keep stopping by the school to get your lunch. Just a friendly reminder that you have work in your Canvas account for Days 1-10. These materials will cover through Wednesday, April 1. Our teachers have worked hard to prepare content, activities, and resources through Thursday, April 9. On Monday, March 30, Days 11-16 of our Remote Learning Activities will be available for download through Canvas. Day 11 resources will be needed for instruction beginning on Thursday, April 2. Remember that all RCS parking lots are Wi-Fi Zones. Your child can log into Canvas in the parking lot and download assignments. Once you have the downloaded materials you can work from home. You can also go back to the school parking lot to submit any work you have completed through Canvas. These areas are active 24/7. As you are completing assignments for CORE classes don’t forget to complete your Exploratory assignments.
Despite the extended school closure, Rutherford County Schools will observe Spring Break as previously scheduled. We will pause remote learning on Friday, April 10, and we will resume on Monday, April 20. We will continue our remote food service during Spring Break. If you have questions, you can call the front office during regular hours Monday through Friday. Also be sure to check out our school facebook page for information. We are posting almost daily to keep you informed.
