Good evening, East Rutherford Middle School students and families,
We hope you had a wonderful weekend. We have a lot planned this week and we are very proud of what is taking place in the classroom each day. Our teachers are working hard everyday to meet the needs of all students. Don’t forget to ask your child to open their Canvas class at home and show you their daily grades. If you have questions or concerns about specific grades or assignments, please contact your child’s teacher. You can access your child’s teachers email by visiting our website or calling the school.
Winter Spirit Week starts tomorrow. Students must adhere to our ERMS school dress code.
Monday: Tree Topper- Wear a festive hat, headband, or festive hair.
Tuesday: Ugly Sweater- Dig into your closet and find something festive and fun!
Wednesday: Holiday Character Day- Come dressed as your favorite holiday character.
Thursday: PJ Day- Let's see those Christmas pajamas! (No slippers)
Friday: Flannel Day- Relax and get comfy in your flannel shirt!
MAP Testing will take place on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Students will take MAP Reading on Tuesday and MAP Math on Thursday. Students please make sure your iPad is charged each morning. We will begin testing at 8:00 AM. Please make sure your child is on time on Tuesday and Thursday. If your child is late, he or she will have to take the MAP test at a different time.
Viking Valor Awards Day is Friday and we are looking forward to celebrating our students. Families please plan to attend as we celebrate and honor those who have worked extremely hard during the 2nd six weeks. We will recognize students for academic achievements, perfect attendance and leadership. We hope to see you on Friday.

7th grade awards time - 9:50 AM
8th grade awards time - 11:30 AM
Sports
- ERMS boys and girls basketball team will practice on Monday from 5:00 - 6:30
- Volleyball team will play at home on Tuesday starting at 4:15. Please come out and cheer on our volleyball team.
Clubs
- GeoBee Team will meet after school on Tuesday of this week.
- Quizbowl Team will meet after school on Wednesday and Friday of this week.
